The Noose. A space to hang clothes.
This idea was inspired by my fascination how everything can be looked at in different lights.
I know the association many of us have with the noose. This was only amplified as I began my research. As you can imagine, I typed "how to tie a noose" into YouTube and the first thing that came up in big bold letter was: "SUICIDE PREVENTION." A cold and jarring reminder of what I was about to do. Mental health and suicide is no joke and definitely not something I take lightly.
However, I like the idea of using something that has negative connotations and turning it into something positive, something we can make use of on a daily basis.
Sometimes we shy away from things that can bring great meaning to our lives just because of how others associate with it.
While some may find this piece uneasy or even insensitive, to me it is a reminder of the life we live and the importance of turning darkness into light.
